Nikon Coolpix P5100 Compact Camera Review
If comparing this against Canon’s Powershot G9, this camera is small in size. It offers a wide range of manual control and a user friendly optical view finder. It has a mode wheel which allows you to select from full-auto, anit-shake, scene, movie, program AE, aperture priority, shutter-priority, ISO 3200 and full manual modes. On the back are function, display playback and delete buttons.

The handrip on the main body makes it safe to hold, however, when turned off it feels chunkier than it’s rivals.
It is an excellent choice for a sharp, detailed quality camera that you would be happy to carry for most of the time. If the quality of output is more important than having to wade through the menu and be patient with the slow focus - it is an excellent choice.
Pros: excellent picture quality and a wide set of manual controls.
Cons: not very user-friendly menu, slow autofocus and a chunky main body.
SLR Digital Camera score: 8/10
